First and foremost, Duke is a performing artist, who has his own live stream on the interwebz.

He's been featured in TODAY as Singapore's National Online Cat.

Duke has a blog that's maintained by a Minion (and we all know you only get one when you're rich, famous, or both).

Oh, and let's not forget that Duke has his own namecards.

Also, which other cat do you know of who has his own mailing address? And receives fan letters at that? (side note: adoring Duke fans are fondly referred to as Dukakis.)

From time to time, Duke also receives visitors at his pleasure (see examples here and here).

But for those of us who can't spare the time to drop by his abode, his Minion has very thoughtfully set up Proxy Petting sessions for us.

In August 2009, an adoring fan also wrote a song for him, and it comes in an acoustic mix as well as a disco mix!

Later that month, he also won the "My Cat is Cuter than Your Cat" competition (you can view his winning entries here).

And lastly, it is a sure sign that a certain level of fame has been attained that even people on TV who are allergic to him want to spend time with him.
